Technology
The No. 1 for AI-based bird deterrent systems
AVES Industry and
AVES Stadium -
the modules
The fully automatic detection and event-related deterrence of birds is carried out with precise sensors and AI-based tracking software. This is made possible by the combination of:

360-degree pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera
Powerful hardware and software
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
high performance speakers
Control with user-friendly HMI (Human-Machine Interface)
Camera
The pan and tilt zoom camera of the AVES Industry and AVES Stadium deterrence system enables 360-degree detection and tracking of individual birds and flocks of birds day and night.
Software
The proprietary software for detection and tracking was originally developed for air defense against flying objects such as commercial drones and further developed for AVES Industry and AVES Stadium for bird detection and tracking. The optional bird species recognition is carried out by a neural network (AI), which carries out the species recognition based on the characteristic features such as size, color pattern and wing beat frequency and initiates or interrupts the deterrence process according to the classification .
Acoustic module
The acoustic module is designed to emit a specific, highly focused acoustic signal at optimal sound pressure levels. The sound beam, which is only emitted when required, calls a flight response in the birds and prevents them from approaching the defined areas. In addition, the birds do not get used to the acoustic signal, which ensures the long-term effectiveness of the deterrent method. The acoustic emitter uses powerful compression drivers and precise speaker mechanical design, enabling it to deliver high sound pressure in a focused sound beam. When the camera detects birds, the high-performance loudspeaker is simultaneously aligned with the target coordinates and the acoustic deterrent signal is emitted.
Webinterface
The AVES Web Interface is a modular web-based application that makes important functions and parameters accessible via a central server. It works with the latest web standards and has been designed to be easy and intuitive to use.
A web interface is provided for the administration of user accounts, which can be used on desktop PCs so that access to the HMI can be configured with different authorizations for employees. For mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets as well as on desktop systems, the interface allows the system activity to be scheduled, for example if the deterrence should only take place at certain times or days of the week or if a reduced volume should be used over certain periods of time. The angular ranges in which the camera monitors can also be restricted, for example for data protection purposes.
Control and steering module
The monitoring and control module contains all components for the data processing, data transmission, motor turntable for the loudspeaker, amplifier and power supply units. Relevant data can be transmitted from the control and control modules to the responsible operator/supervisor via a wireless network connection to the Internet. This also enables remote maintenance and software updates by Protectis Air. The integrated computer processes the camera data and recognizes birds in the picture. The control of the pan, tilt and zoom function of the camera, the panning and control of the loudspeaker and the wireless connection to the server for the HMI are also taken over by this powerful computer, which will also be supported by additional AI methods in the future thanks to a powerful graphics card more targeted species-specific deterrence can be expanded. Such updates can be imported wirelessly.
